ABOUT PIXELDAGGER
Pixeldagger is an interactive/print design and consulting studio based in Melbourne, Australia. Our reputation is based on an 19 year history in the design industry, and 16 in new media design and development. In addition to the immediate Pixeldagger team, we and in turn our clients have access to a vast network or artists, writers, creatives, and IT specialists. Over the years Pixeldagger has maintained long term relationships with its clients due to its inimitable creative style, and its consistently expanding knowledge.
Ross Devereaux is the front man and chief hamster that turns the Pixeldagger cogs into motion. He is an unassuming fellow, who feeds off the simple grains of life. He is inspired by his passion for the arts and music and draws on a vast library of audio and literary resources, as well as entertaining his mind with the constantly increasing compendium of filmography..
Back in 1991, when Ross first hit the eclectic shores of Melbourne, the doors were opened to him by a budding design company in Fitzroy to take on the initial role of production manager and co-ordinator. This catapulted Ross into the design industry and gave him the fundamental knowledge of process a lot of us miss out on. This was an era too, where the design era was experiencing a revolutionary transcendence from paste-up art and design to the wonders of modern technology, i.e., computer based graphics. Someone had to flow with the transition so Ross pretty much ran with it. This allowed him the privilege of working on blue chip accounts such as BP Australia, Vicroads, Cummins Diesel etcetera etcetera.
Then came along the wondering world wide web and like anything this was just another challenge for Ross that had to be explored. New media in all its forms was evidently presenting the designer with new means and strategies of getting a client’s message across, not only in a linear fashion but also interactively. Access to information suddenly became agile and no longer consumed pointless loss of precious time.
1997 led Ross to enter into a studio partnership. This led to new challenges and in turn developed Ross’ reputation as a reliable resource for clients web and interactive design requirements. He always maintained a good traditional foothold too in print design and this served him in good steed once his life took a major turn in 2000. Yes yes dawning of a new century and all that, Ross decided to become a one man band, and started on his tour path as designer, design consultant, project co-ordinator, roadie ... gaffer.
Thus Pixeldagger
